The sweet boy in the photo below is my grandpa Gerald Robinson, born in 1933. He is pictured with his father Glen Robinson born in 1912, his grandfather William Robinson, born in 1892, and his great grandfather Samuel Robinson, born Dec 22, 1858. The three younger Robinsons were all born in Minnesota, USA and Samuel, on the far left, born in County Down, Ireland, was the first Robinson in our tree to emigrate from Ireland to the US. I would love to know more about what brought Samuel to the US. What did he leave behind? What did he face coming to a foreign country? These are questions on my list of genealogy To-Dos. I will see Grandpa this weekend and interview him about the people in the photo. And I want to research Samuel Robinson and County Down around the time Samuel left.
I am so thankful to have so much family history knowledge to jump off from. My only problem is how to find the time to research and organize the information for all the braches. Between taking care of my own 8 and 4 year old boys, working full time and household duties, I have to make genealogy one of my priorities.
